I have the Glowing Blue colour variant of the OPPO A78 smartphone for review. The colour looks appealing and the device, despite being in under the Rs 20,000 segment, is slim, lightweight and comfortable to hold. For those who want numbers, it weighs around 188 grams and is 7.99mm thick.

The glossy tone looks good and the device has a 3.5mm audio jack along with other essential buttons. The power button is placed on the right and doubles up as a fingerprint scanner. The fingerprint scanner is quite responsive.

OPPO A78 5G Review: Battery and charging

The OPPO A78 5G comes with a 5,000mAh battery and supports 33W SuperVOOC fast charging. The charger will take around 80 minutes to take the battery from zero to 100 per cent. Even when used excessively, the battery lasted for more than a day.

OPPO A78 5G Review: Camera

The OPPO A78 5G comes with a double camera setup with 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth shooter. While the camera performed well in daylight, it struggled to produce good-quality images in low light. The OPPO A78 5G has a dedicated night mode but frankly, it won't help you much either.

For selfies, it has a waterdrop-style notch housing a 16MP front camera. The front camera manages to click some good photos but the skin tone in most of the photos is not natural.

OPPO A78 5G Review: Verdict

The Oppo A78 5G has good looks and battery performance is impressive. If you are not much into clicking images and gaming, this smartphone can be a good value for money.
