Here are 10 things that you need to know before buying the Lava Storm 5G.

1. It is one of the best-looking smartphones in its price segment. The minimalist design is complemented by a glass back panel. The solid colour at the back, with the same colour plastic mid-frame, looks simple but elegant. However, the glass panel makes it a bit heavier.

2. The Lava Storm 5G has a 6.78-inch IPS LCD display. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and scrolling through different apps feels smooth. It has a slightly thicker bezel at the chin but overall it's a good display and even supports FHD+ resolution. The peak peak brightness is 478 nits and I found it to be good for all indoor usage. Using it under sunlight can be tricky.

3. The smartphone draws power from the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 processor. It is paired with 8GB RAM which is good to have at this price band. However, storage is just 128GB but it is expandable up to 1TB.

4. The performance of this device is quite good and it won't stutter even when you are multitasking. You can even play video games - but not the graphically intensive ones.

5. The Lava Storm 5G runs on Android 13 and the best thing about Lava devices is that they offer a very clean UI experience. However, Lava has promised an Android 14 upgrade along with two years of security updates.

6. Under the hood, it has a 5,000mAh battery which can easily last for a day. The device also supports 33W fast charging, which according to the company is first in its segment. The device takes around one and a half hours to get fully charged.

7. The Lava Storm 5G has a dual camera setup at the rear with a 50MP primary camera. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. The camera performance is good for the price.

8. While images are slightly saturated, they are worthy of sharing on social media platforms. The bokeh effect in portrait mode is good but edge detection is not very precise.

9. For selfies, the smartphone has a 16MP front camera which clicks good images in daylight conditions.

10. If you are someone who is looking for an elegant-looking smartphone with good performance and battery, Lava Storm 5G is a good option to consider. On top of that, there are very few options in this price range that will offer a bloatware-free experience.
