Earning its name from the curved screen design, the Lava Blaze Curve 5G looks unique among other flat-screen smartphones. Aesthetically, the device looks flawless. However, it does have a slippery texture, which can be countered with a case. The rear panel comes with a glass panel atop the plastic chassis. To the right are the power button and volume rockers, while the speaker grills and USB Type-C port are towards the bottom, as usual.

Lava Blaze Curve 5G Review: Display

The USP of the Lava Blaze Curve 5G is its curved screen, which lends it an elegant appearance. Adding to its premium feel is the seamless blending between the back panel and the display. The presence of an optical in-display fingerprint is the cherry on top. This device boasts a centre punch-hole 6.72-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The bezels are not the thinnest you see in curved-display smartphones but they are still on par with many in the segment. With a peak brightness of 800 nits, the colours are vibrant. The multimedia user experience promises to be fun with this device, as it has got Widevine L1 certification, enabling it to stream content with up to FHD resolution on platforms like Disney+ Hotstar and Netflix, etc.

Lava Blaze Curve 5G Review: Software and Performance

Lava is among the very few Android smartphone brands offering a cleaner UI experience with no excessive bloatware stuffing. The Lava Blaze Curve 5G comes with Android 13, with the brand assuring that this device will soon receive Android 14, while also having the option of upgrading it to Android 15. The device boasts a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor and 8GB of RAM, with either 128GB or 256GB internal storage, taking the performance a notch above when undertaking multitasking. There were no technical hiccups while multitasking, scrolling, and browsing social media. It even handled graphically-intensive games, including BGMI and Real Racing 3, without any freezes or stutters.

Lava Blaze Curve 5G Review: Camera

The camera setup of the Lava Blaze Curve 5G includes a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro unit. The camera output is not the best but is pretty sufficient for casual users. In well-lit setups, the camera performs nicely with better colour calibration. Sometimes, the camera overexposes the objects, leading to fuzzy results. The ultrawide sensor enables a wide view, but the photos are not immune to distortion and reduced sharpness. The 2MP camera also leaves scope for improvement. The selfie camera, featuring a 32MP sensor, captures images with better facial details and true skin tones. The edge detection is good with impressive depth of field.

Lava Blaze Curve 5G Review: Battery

The Lava Blaze Curve 5G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with a charging support of 33W. The device gets fully charged in a little over an hour and can last up to 24 hours. To users’ delight, a charger is included in the box.

Lava Blaze Curve 5G Review: Verdict

The Lava Blaze Curve 5G impresses with its multimedia experience and casual gaming performance. The curved screen adds a nice touch, barring a few accidental touch niggles here and there. The battery life is also decent; however, the cameras have left scope for further improvements. If you are a casual user, not overly concerned about having the best camera setup, this device can be the go-to option. Well, despite being a mixed bag, the device gets the job done for you.
