A new range of Xiaomi smartphones will be available on e-commerce marketplace, Amazon from 12 pm on Wednesday. The smartphones – Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite will sell on Xiaomi’s official site – Mi.com and amazon.in.

The lowest storage variant, Redmi Y1 Lite, has a 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory and is available for Rs 6,999.

While the bigger storage variants – of 32GB and 64GB are available for Rs 8,999 and Rs 10,999 respectively.

As the latest Xiaomi smartphone goes on sale, Idea Cellular along with Amazon have dished out a few offers to interested customers. Idea Cellular is offering additional 280GB data for the purchasers of the Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite.

Customers who recharge with the Rs 357 plan on Idea Cellular’s network will get an additional 1GB data per day for 28 days. This plan usually gives 1.5GB data per day, unlimited voice calls.

So the Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite and Idea Cellular subscribers will get 2.5GB data per.

Customers will also get a free subscription to Hungama Music for 12 months and 3 months of free subscription to Hungama Play.

Amazon is also advertising for the Mi Band HRX edition at a discounted price of Rs 1299, from its earlier listed Rs 1,799.

Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite specs

The latest phones by Xiaomi is an attempt by the Chinese smartphone company to take on selfie-centric smartphones of Oppo F3 and others.

It has a 16MP selfie front facing camera and a 13MP rear camera.

The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 435 SoC, 3GB.4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of internal storage, dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion.

It is powered by a 3080mAh battery and runs on Android Nougat MIUI 9.
