Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has finally launched Redmi S2 in China today. The latest device comes with some segment-leading features like dual-rear camera setup, 18:9 display along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. Just like any other Xiaomi smartphone, Redmi S2 is expected to offer value for money service.
 
Xiaomi Redmi S2 reportedly boasts of features like 5.99-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, 2.5D curved glass and a resolution of 720x1440 pixels, along with thin bezels at the sides. Additionally, the new device comes with Eye Protection mode, Colour temperature adjustment, 450 nits of brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
 
Other specifications of Xiaomi Redmi S2 are: Xiaomi's new smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and it comes in 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage variants. Xiaomi Redmi S2 also has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor along with hybrid dual-SIM connectivity. The new device runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with MIUI 9.5 on top and boasts of Face Unlock feature.
 
On its rear, Xiaomi Redmi S2 has a 12-megapixel primary sensor along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, LED Flash and a wide-angle lens, while on its front, the smartphone has a 16-megapixel selfie sensor with fixed focus.

Backed by a 3080mAh battery sans fast charging support, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 is reportedly priced at CNY 999 (roughly Rs 10,500) for the basic 3GB of RAM/32GB storage variant, while 4GB RAM/64GB storage version will cost about CNY 1,299 (Rs 13,750). If we compare the price of this new phone with Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, the latter also comes with price tag of Rs 9,999 for 3GB of RAM/32GB version, and 4GB RAM/ 64GB variant at Rs 11,999. Therefore, one can say that both the Xiaomi smartphone would cater to the same segment of buyers.
