Xiaomi Redmi 7A launch date in India has been set as July 4. The launch was confirmed by Xiaomi India Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain through a tweet. The Xiaomi India chief called the Redmi 7A "smart desh ka apna smartphone". Jain also confirmed that the Indian variant of the smartphone will come with a feature that is not present in the China version. "Mi fans, here’s something exciting. We are set to launch the #Redmi7A on 4th July. Let’s welcome #SmartDeshKaSmartphone and get ready to see it conquer the world. Can’t wait!" Jain tweeted.

The launch was further confirmed by e-commerce website Flipkart which has created a dedicated microsite highlighting the availability of the phone. Apart from Flipkart, the Redmi 7A will also be available through Mi.com and Mi Home stores. Redmi 7A is a modified version of Redmi 7 and comes with Snapdragon 439 SoC and packs a 4,000mAh battery.

The Flipkart microsite cofirms the Redmi 7A launch date as July 4 but doesn't mention anything about the smartphone's price or features. It also hints that the smartphone will come with a "fast processor", "Facebook-ready camera", and "long lasting battery".

Xiaomi Redmi 7A features

The Xiaomi Redmi 7A was launched in China earlier this year and is expected to come in two storage variants - 16GB and 32GB. It has a 5.4-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset paired with up to 3GB RAM. The phone runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie. It is powered by a 4000mAh battery with a 10W charger. Jain has already confirmed that the smartphone will get a feature that no other brand offers in India for less than Rs 20,000.

In China, the smartphone was launched in two variants - 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The price of the 3GB RAM model of the Redmi 7A in China is 599 Yuan (approx Rs 6,000).
