Xiaomi Mi 10 vs OnePlus 8: The government has already allowed the delivery of smartphones in several parts of the country and people living in red zones will also be able to place orders soon. If you have been waiting to buy a new smartphone, there will be no shortage of options with some companies launching new phones soon while others already have. Last week, Xiaomi introduced its flagship-level smartphone Mi 10 which will compete against OnePlus 8, among others in the Indian market. The latter was also launched during the lockdown. Here is a detailed comparison of both the devices.

The Mi 10 5G is priced at Rs 49,999 for the base variant which comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, going up to Rs 54,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. Both variants will be available in Coral Green and Twilight Grey colour options.

The OnePlus 8 is available in a 6GB RAM and 128GB base variant priced at Rs 41,999. There are also 8GB RAM + 128GB storage (Rs 44,999) and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage (Rs 49,999) variants. The smartphone will be offered in three colours- Onyx Black, Interstellar Glow, and Glacial Green.

Both the smartphones draw their power from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chipset, making them 5G ready. Xiaomi’s Mi 10 features a 6.67-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and 180Hz touch response rate. It packs a 4,780mAh battery with support for 30W fast wired and wireless charging. There is also support for 10W reverse charging that is Qi-compatible. The phone runs MIUI 11 based on Android 10.

OnePlus 8 boasts of a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED panel with 90Hz refresh rate and a FullHD+ resolution of 2400x1080 pixels. It also supports HDR10+ and offers a peak display brightness of 1000 nits. The phone comes with a 4300 mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T which is claimed to charge from 1% to 50% in 22 minutes. There is sadly no wireless charging.

Mi 10 comes with a 108-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.33-inch sensor along with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera with 123-degree FOV, a 2-megapixel macro sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front camera of the device is 20-megapixels and is placed in the punch-hole cutout.

OnePlus 8, meanwhile, has a triple camera setup with the 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor, a 16-megapixel sensor with an ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The front camera is a 16-megapixel sensor with a fixed focus.
