WhatsApp already has a search option which allows users to track their old text messages. The feature is available for both iOS as well as Android users. But, the upcoming feature will help users to track the chat session easily and quickly than ever before. It would also let them find forgotten images, videos, audio, documents, GIFs and URL links.

The feature is expected to offer a preview of the message along with multimedia content for easy identification. It is expected to be rolled out for public use in the coming weeks and would help the users locate specific multimedia content shared on WhatsApp.

The platform is also working on new emojis including icons of male, female and transgender. It is available on Android 2.19.56 beta update.

The company is also expected to roll out the much awaited dark mode soon. The new mode will enhance the interface of the messenger app and will help users to save more battery life. Facebook has recently added this mode to its standalone messenger app. The mode dulls the background to black and helps phone's battery to last longer.

Meanwhile, there have also been reports of WhatsApp bringing Group Invite feature to the platform which will make it mandatory for the group admin to ask for permission from an invitee to accept or reject the offer to join the group chat session. Till now, users could be added to a group without their permission.
