Ten more days and there is a chance that you won't be able to WhatsApp, if you are still using an old phone. The Facebook-owned platform had very recently confirmed that it will end support for a number of Android and iOS smartphones. As updated on the FAQ section of the instant messaging app, there are several smartphones that may not be able to run the app as the company will withdraw support for older versions of OS.

The section says that WhatsApp will stop running on Android phones running on Android 2.3.7 operating system and lower as well as iPhones running on iOS 8 and lower. It said that users on these platforms "can no longer create new accounts, nor re-verify existing accounts after February 1, 2020."

What you must do?

If you are not using any of the above-mentioned operating systems, there is absolutely no need to worry. But, if you are still using these lower version OS on your phones, then you must back up all your data to ensure that the information is not lost after February 1, 2020.

- Open a chat and tap on chats.

- Select export chat.

- Download chat with or without media.

The next thing you must do is buy a new smartphone. There is no other option if you want to continue using the platform. Here is the list of OS where the support will end -

-Android versions 2.3.7 and older

-iOS 8 and older

-All Windows OS phones from 31 December, 2019.
