Facebook-owned messaging app WhatsApp has been making some useful updates for both Android and iOS users this year. According to WhatsApp, users in India forward the most number of messages, photos, and videos than any other part of the world, which is leading to the spread of fake and provocative news. The government has served a notice to the messaging platform for the second time asking it to check the spread of such misleading messages.

This incident has pushed the messaging app to limit the number of users a message could be forwarded. This forward limit and the forward tag has been introduced to iOS.

This feature has been introduced to the Android phones. Whenever a user forwards a message to another user, the forward tag comes along with it. This step has been taken by the app to prevent the unprecedented spreading of fake news on the platform.

With the latest update for iOS, there are some minor bug fixes for the app. According to media reports, WhatsApp is also planning to do away with the quick forward option which sits next to the media on WhatsApp chats and allows the users to quickly forward a media to their contacts.

The messaging app has rolled out yet another new feature to its Android and iOS users. The new feature- 'Predictive Uploads' will predict media files for you that you probably want to send.

The concept of Predictive Uploads goes like this- the app will start uploading an image to the server right after you selecting it on the media selection screen. This will result in faster media upload time and will be very helpful when there’s a slow internet connection at the user’s end.
