WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.18.246: If you are offended by someone's comments in a group or personal chat and want to save it for future reference, Facebook-owned WhatsApp is here to help you now. The new beta version of WhatsApp for Android provides users a revamped "Report" tab that lets you save chat history of people you report and block. This feature also works for group chats. Earlier, when users reported or blocked someone, their chat history also used to get deleted. WABetainfo first reported the development.

What exactly is the new feature?

The revamped "Report" feature allows users to report, block and save chat history of individuals as well as groups. 

Can anyone use the new feature?

The new feature is not available for all users. currently, only Android beta testers can use the new "Report" feature. However, a rollout for the public is expected soon. 

How to use the revamped "Report" feature

If you want to access the revamped "Report" feature for individual chats, then open chat, click on the three-dot menu on the top right side. then, click on "View contact", scroll to the bottom and click on "Report". After this, you will see a message "Report this contact", which will be followed by a checkbox that will ask you to tick block and delete individual chat's messages. 

How to get the new "Report" feature

To access the new report feature, enrol into WhatsApp's Android beta programme. Alternatively, you can side-load APK from APK Mirror. 

To become WhatsApp beta tester, open WhatsApp app on Google Play Store, scroll down to fine "become beta tester" tab, click on "Yes I', in" and confirm your decision by clicking on "Join". You will be enrolled in the WhatsApp beta programme in a few hours.
