New Vodafone plan has generated a lot of heat in the telecom market as it is offering 10 GB data, 168-day validity and 100 SMS per day. The plan comes for just Rs 597. The 168-day validity is just for feature phone users, who don't use 4G data a lot, while the smartphone users will get just 112-day validity. The Vodafone offer comes with unlimited local as well as STD call facility. But the total daily call limit has been fixed at 250 minutes/day. The weekly limitation is 1000 minutes of voice calls per week. Users can make only make calls to 100 unique numbers during the entire validity period. The offer is available in all Vodafone 4G circles

The Vodafone offer takes competition with Airtel and Reliance Jio head on. Telecom Talk reports that the Vodafone plan competes with Airtel's Rs 597 plan, which is aimed at smartphone users.

The Airtel plan doesn't have any limitation on voice calls and the validity period is 168-days for smartphone users. It also offers 10 GB data. It is not clear whether Airtel is offering any separate validity for feature phone users.

The Vodafone plan was first introduced in August this year.

Reliance Jio plan: For Rs 498, Jio offers 2GB/Day data with unlimited voice call facility. This plan is valid for 91 days. For Rs 449, it is offering 1.5 GB 4G data daily for 91 days and unrestricted voice call facility.

Clearly, for users needing more data, Jio is the best option. The Vodafone plan could be a delight for feature-phone users, but with long validity and unlimited call facility, Airtel comes across as more interesting when compared to the Vodafone one.
