In the ongoing data war among telcos, Vodafone India’s broadband unit, YOU Broadband, has introduced new long-validity broadband plans with three months, six months and 12 months validity. These plans of YOU Broadband, which has its operations in more than 15 cities, claims to be quite affordable. The yearly plan comes with a total of 12TB FUP, comes at merely Rs 353 (excluding taxes) is divided into 1TB per month.

The new Vodafone boardband plans have been launched in Hyderabad city of Andhra Pradesh to take on other Internet Service Providers like ACT Fibernet and Pioneer Broadband, said TelecomTalk report. The three new broadband plans of YOU Broadband have been launched with the same 78 Mbps speed limit. 

According to the report, the Internet Service Provider (ISP) is offering 90 days plan with 3TB FUP at Rs 477 per month, which converts to 1,687 (including GST) for the validity period, while 180 days plan comes at a price of Rs 2,699 (including GST), which costs Rs 381 per month. Rs 365 days plan, however, comes at a price of Rs 353 per month.

YOU Broadband reportedly stated that no installation charges would be taken from a customer if they opt for these plans, and they would also get a free-for-use router. YOU Broadband would also expand its FTTH offerings soon to provide its customers choice of home broadband plans, the report added.

Recently, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) enhanced it’s Rs 4,999 fibre-to-home (FFTH) plan to give a stiff competition to Reliance Jio’s Jio Fiber. The state-owned telecom's FTTH plan, however, is available in Chennai with an an FUP limit of 1500GB.

Earlier the news had come that RJio aimed at capturing wired broadband space by giving 1.1TB of free data at a speed of 100mbps in JioFiber plans. However, no confirmation was given by the Mukesh Ambani-led company.
