In a bid to take on competitors like Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea has launched a new prepaid plan for its customers. The new prepaid plan comes with a validity of 28 days and offers free 100 night on-net calling from 11 PM to 6 AM. The plan is aimed at providing validity extension to users instead of talk time or data benefits.

Customers will be charged 4 paise per 10KB, and 10 paise per 10KB in roaming for data usage as part of the new Vodafone Idea Rs 24 prepaid plan. The calling rates are at 2.5 paise per second for local and STD calls, apart from the free 100 minutes that are being offered between 11PM and 6 AM. This means that Vodafone to Vodafone and Idea to Idea calls between the above-mentioned time will be free of cost. 

For SMS, the customers will have to pay Re 1 per message. The national messages will be charged at Rs 1.5 paise per message.

The customers who want to avail talk time and data benefits will have to recharge their phones with separate recharge for those benefits. The telecom operator has also mentioned that once the plan gets expire, it will check if the user has sufficient balance and deduct Rs 24 to extend the validity by 28 days. 

The customers can avail the recharge through the MyVodafone App.

The plan will compete directly with Airtel's Rs 23 plan which offers local and STD voice calls at 2.5 paise per second. Under the Airtel prepaid plan, the customers also get local SMS at Re 1 and national SMS at Rs 1.5. The plan comes with a validity of 28 days. However, it doesn't offer any data benefits.
