The latest offering by Vivo has been positioned as a powerful gaming device with country's first Qualcomm Snapgragon 712 Processor and will take on the likes on Redmi Note 7 Pro and Samsung Galaxy M40 in India, both launched earlier this year. All the three smartphones come with similar price tags but cater different set of users. Here is a detailed comparison that will allow you to choose between these budget smartphones:

Vivo Z1Pro vs Redmi Note 7 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy M40: Price compared

The Vivo Z1Pro comes at a very competitive price starting at Rs 14,990 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, while the 6GB RAM, 64 GB and the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variants have been priced at Rs 16,990 and Rs 17,990, respectively. The smartphone is available in three colour options: Sonic Black, Sonic Blue and Mirror Black. To be honest, here you don't have much to choose from between the three devices as the Samsung Galaxy M40 price in India starts at Rs 19,990 for the single 6GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant. It is available on Amazon India and Samsung Online store in two colour options – Midnight Blue and Sweater Blue.

Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes in two different variants – the 4G RAM, 64 GB internal storage priced at Rs 13,999 and the 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage priced at Rs 16,999. The phone is available on Flipkart and Mi.com, in Neptune Blue, Nebula Red, and Space Black colour options.

Vivo Z1Pro vs Redmi Note 7 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy M40: Display and design compared

Both Redmi Note 7 Pro and Samsung Galaxy M40 come with 6.3-inch displays with full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) resolution with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. However, the Z1Pro offers you a slightly bigger screen. It features a 6.53-inch display with 19.5:9 super wide view and FHD+ (2340X1080 pixels). The screen size suits those who spend more hours on gaming or for consuming media. But, at the same time it makes the smartphone tough to fit into your palms.

The other difference you could find here is that while the Xiaomi smartphone comes with a waterdrop-style notch, the Samsung Galaxy M40 comes with a punch-hole display. And, the Z1Pro too has got an in-display front camera which is the company name of the punch-hole display.

Vivo Z1Pro vs Redmi Note 7 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy M40: Specifications compared

This where the Z1Pro wins the battle by offering a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor while both the other smartphones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor. This makes the Z1Pro more suited for gaming and multitasking. The Redmi Note 7 Pro and the Z1Pro can be coupled with either 4GB or 6GB RAM while the Galaxy M40 is available with only 6GB RAM.

Vivo Z1Pro vs Redmi Note 7 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy M40: Camera

Launched in February this year, the Redmi Note 7 Pro houses a dual rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.79 lens and a 5-megapixel secondary depth sensor. On the front, it has a 13-megapixel camera sensor. The rear camera comes with features like AI scene detection, AI Portrait 2.0, and a Night mode.

On other hand, with the Samsung Galaxy M40, you get a triple rear come that houses 32-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 lens, a 5-megapixel secondary, depth sensor, and an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens. There is a 16-megapixel sensor at the front as well.

The rear camera is not the strongest points of the Z1Pro as it comes with a triple rear camera setup with a 16MP Primary camera, 8MP Super Wide-Angle camera and 2MP Depth camera. However, on the front, the Z1Pro gets an impressive 32MP AI selfie shooter.

Vivo Z1Pro vs Redmi Note 7 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy M40: Battery

All the three smartphones offer impressive batteries as well. The Redmi Note 7 Pro is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery and the Samsung Galaxy M40 comes with a 3,500mAh battery. But, the Z1Pro gets the biggest 5,000 mAh battery making it ideal for long term usage.

Which smartphone suits you best?

If you are only looking at performance, than Z1Pro is the best bet. The smartphone offers a powerful processor along with an impressive battery. But, it is a heavy device and not the slimmest phone available in the market. Despite that you can expect value for money from this machine. Meanwhile, if you are looking to buy a smartphone for better photography, then Redmi Note 7 Pro fits the description best. In case you are the more balanced buyer and do not want to compromise on either aspect, the Galaxy M40 offers the best of both worlds.
