The latest offering by vivo comes with a quad rear camera setup and bigger battery with fast charging support. It is an affordable variant of this year's camera-heavy vivo V17 Pro and will go on sale via Amazon India, vivo’s own e-store and other offline retail channels. The smartphone competes against Redmi Note 8 Pro and Realme XT, both launched only a couple of months back in India. Let's see where it stands.

The vivo V17 has been launched in a lone variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. It has been priced at Rs 22,990 in India and comes in two colour options - Glacier Ice and Midnight Ocean. The Realme XT, which was India's first smartphone to come with a 64MP camera, was priced at Rs 15,999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The 6GB RAM with 64GB storage model is available for Rs 16,999, whereas the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage model costs Rs 18,999. The Redmi Note 8 Pro price in India starts at Rs 14,999 for the base model with 6GB RAM with 64GB storage. The higher model with 128GB storage will cost Rs 15,999. The top model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage costs Rs 17,999.

The vivo V17 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor, the Realme XT is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor and Redmi Note 8 Pro used the MediaTek Helio G90T octa-core gamin chipset. Unlike the Redmi and Realme, the Vivo V17 packs a punch hole-display design. All three phones come with a Full HD+ display running at 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution.

On the vivo V17, you get a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED display, Realme XT offers a 6.40-inch Super AMOLED panel while the Redmi Note 8 Pro has a 6.53-inch LCD display. The new phone from Vivo offers a 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The Xiaomi phone comes with a 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging. The Realme device comes with a 4,000mAh unit with 20W fast charging.

All the smartphones offer a quad rear camera setup. While the V17 comes with a 48-megapixel primary camera, both Realme XT and Redmi Note 8 Pro sport 64-megapixel sensors. The other three lenses on the V17 include an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel dedicated macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
