With this launch, the company will take on a number of players like Redmi, Oppo, Realme, Jabra, JBL, Noise, 1More and Sennheiser. The products expected to be launched are Sony WF-SP800N and WF-XB700 - both listed on the company's website as ‘coming soon'.

The Sony WF-SP800N true wireless earphones with active noise cancellation were launched globally in May this year at $199 (about Rs 15,100), while the Sony WF-XB700N were launched in April for $130 (about Rs. 9,900). The company has confirmed the launch event by sending out media invites.

There will be a massive change in the Indian pricing of any of these products with the Sony WF-XB700N likely to be positioned in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment. The Sony WF-SP800N could be priced at under Rs 15,000.

The Sony WF-SP800N is the more premium of the two, and will take on products such as the Apple AirPods range, the Samsung Galaxy Buds+, and the Jabra Elite 75t. The earphones come with active noise cancellation. The feature is rare on truly wireless earbuds, giving Sony an edge over competitors.

Last week, the company had launched a new wireless noise cancelling headphones in India - WH-CH710N. The headphones come with a battery life of 35 hours and have been designed for music enthusiasts that love to travel. Sony is promoting these for highly effective Noise Cancellation that isolates outside noise and allows you to take calls, listen to music and more without disturbance.
