The South Korean technology firm, Samsung, has unveiled two smartphones, Galaxy A9 Star Lite and A9 Star, at an event in China. Reports say that Galaxy A9 Star Lite is the same device earlier launched in India as Samsung Galaxy A6+. However, Samsung Galaxy A9 Star is a new offering, said a TelecomTalk report.

According to the report, Galaxy A9 Star will be available in colour options of Black and White, while Galaxy A9 Star Lite will come in Black and Blue colours. The Galaxy A9 Star and A9 Star Lite will be available at retail price of 3699 Yuan (approx Rs 38,500) and 2699 Yuan (approx Rs 28,100) respectively. 

The Galaxy A9 Star reportedly boasts of 6.3-inch Full HD+ screen rending 2220 x 1080 pixels resolution with Super AMOLED Infinity display as the Samsung has its own signature 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The new device is driven by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform which is accompanied by Kryo 260 CPU and Adreno 512 GPU for graphics, said TelecomTalk report. 

The new phone, which packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and can be further expanded via a microSD card, comes with a 24MP + 16MP dual camera setup on the rear and a single 24MP camera on the front for selfies. Keeping with the ongoing trend, the Galaxy A9 Star boasts of 3700mAh non-removable battery along with fast charging support.

However, Galaxy A9 Star Lite, which is the Lite versions of the Galaxy A9 Star, sports a smaller 6-inch display which again is a Super AMOLED Infinity display by Samsung with a similar Full HD+ resolution, the report said, adding that this new device runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 Mobile Platform under the hood and combines the power of Adreno 506 GPU along with 4GB of RAM.

With an internal storage of 64GB, which is expandable up to 256GB via a MicroSD card, the Galaxy A9 Star Lite sports a 16MP + 5MP dual camera setup on the rear side, along with a 24MP camera on the front for selfies, the report added.
