Samsung is all set to launch their flagship smartphones the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in India on Wednesday. The company will live stream the event which is taking place in New Delhi at 12pm on the Samsung India website.

Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ was launched at the end of last month in the US. While the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ came with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC processor in the US, in India it will come with the Samsung Exynos 8895 SoC processor. Both the processors have comparable performances and in fact the Samsung Exynos 8895 SoC processor beats the Qualcomm processor on some counts.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is priced at $720 (around Rs 46,700) and Galaxy S8+ at $840 (around Rs 54,500) in the US. In India too it is expected to be priced in the similar range. The smartphone is expected to be available on both online and offline retailers.

In terms of specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, one of the key features is the Infinity Display which has dual-edge curved display and covers almost the entire front of the phone. The display is certified by the UHD Alliance as Mobile HDR Premium.

The Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8 inch QHD display; while the Galaxy S8+ comes with a 6.2 inch QHD display.

S8 and S8+ will be powered by Samsung's in-house Exynos 8895 octo-core processor, depending on the region. It has a 4GB RAM and a 64GB internal storage which can be expandable upto 256 GB.

The Galaxy S8 and S8+ has a Sony IMX333 sensors. They have a 12 megapixel 'Dual Pixel' rear cameras and a 8 megapixel front camera with anti-focus and optical image stabilisation.

While the Galaxy S8 is powered by a 3000 mAh battery, while the Galaxy S8 Plus comes with a larger 3500 mAh battery. The smartphones also support fast charging technology and wireless fast charging facility as well. It comes with the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.
