Samsung has launched a new variant of its popular smartphone – the Galaxy A51 in India. Launched earlier this year, the smartphone had emerged as the best-selling smartphone of Q1 2020. It will now be available in a new variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The new variant is priced at Rs 27,999 with an option to expand storage to 512GB using a microSD card.

The Samsung Galaxy A51 comes in three colour variants - Crush Black, Prism Crush White and Prism Crush Blue. The new variant of the smartphone will be available across retail channels – offline retail stores, leading e-commerce portals and Samsung.com.

The Samsung Galaxy A51 price in India was initially set at Rs 23,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage variant. Back then, the company had announced its plans to launch a 8GB RAM variant of the phone.

The Samsung Galaxy A51 comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a centered punch-hole cutout. The smartphone borrows its design from the flagship level smartphones like S10 and Note 10. It is powered by a 2.3GHz octa-core Exynos 9611 processor.

The smartphone comes with a quad-camera setup with a primary 48-megapixel lens, 5-megapixel macro lens, 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, and 5-megapixel camera for depth sensing. On the front, you get a 32-megapixel lens for selfies.

The smartphone packs a 4,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging. It runs Android 10-based One UI. 

The company also plans to launch two new smartphones in the affordable Galaxy M series in India over the next few days that would be priced below Rs 15,000. The new smartphones - Galaxy M01 and Galaxy M11 - would be sold via Samsung`s offline retail channels as well as online platforms.

Galaxy M01, Samsung`s most affordable Galaxy M smartphone, is likely to be priced below Rs 10,000 and would come in one variant of 3/32GB. Galaxy M01 is tipped to come with dual rear camera and 4,000mAh battery.
