The Samsung Galaxy S8 has been launched one of the most anticipated smartphone launches in India. However, the smartphone goes up against many other smartphones launched recently which have similar specifications and this brings to the question whether the smartphone is worth the high price tag.

Display: The OnePlus 3T has been one of the most popular smartphones in its category. In terms of the display it comes with a 5.5 inch display. The Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with little larger display a 5.8 inch QHD display which is certified by the UHD Alliance as Mobile HDR Premium. Samsung has termed it as the Infinity Display which has dual-edge curved display and is the highlight of the smartphone.

Processor: The OnePlus 3T is powered by 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. While the Samsung Galaxy S8 has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC processor in the US, but in India it will come with the Samsung Exynos 8895 SoC processor. Both the processors have comparable performances and in fact the Samsung Exynos 8895 SoC processor beats the Qualcomm processor on some counts. The Samsung's octa-core Exynos 8895 SoC processor has four cores at 2.3GHz and four cores at 1.7GHz.

RAM: In terms of RAM the OnePlus 3T has a higher 6GB RAM, while the Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with a 4GB RAM.

Internal storage: The Galaxy S8 has a 64GB internal memory which can be expanded to 256GB via microSD card. The OnePlus 3T, on the other hand, has a 64GB internal memory but cannot be expanded.

Camera: In terms of the camera, the OnePlus 3T comes with a higher 16 megapixel rear as well as front selfie camera. Samsung Galaxy has a 12 megapixel 'Dual Pixel' rear cameras and a 8 megapixel front camera with anti-focus and optical image stabilisation.

Battery: Coming to the battery which is the most important considering these two smartphones have such large displays. The Samsung Galaxy S8, on the other hand, comes with a lower 3000mAh battery which also comes with Quick Charge 3.0 capability. The OnePlus 3T comes with a higher battery capacity of 3400mAh and also supports the fast charging capabilities.

OS: In terms of the operating system the OnePlus 3T comes with the older Android 6.0.1, while the Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with the latest Android 7.1.1.

Price: In terms of the price the OnePlus 3T is far cheaper in comparison to the Samsung Galaxy S8 at Rs 29,999. The Galaxy S8 comes at huge price tag of Rs 57,900.
