Samsung has surpassed Vivo to become the top smartphone brand in India in the third quarter of 2023. According to the International Data Corporation’s (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, Realme jumped from the number 3 position in Q2 2023 to the second spot with a market share of 15.1 per cent. Also, Poco has emerged as the fastest-growing smartphone brand in India for the third consecutive quarter and also jumped one spot to seventh in the ranking.

However, Samsung's shipments declined year-over-year (YoY). The South Korean tech major had the highest ASP (average selling price) amongst the top five brands at $381, growing by 43 per cent YoY. The report said that the launch of C53 and 11x helped Realme climb to the second slot. 

"Vivo (excluding iQOO), registered the highest growth amongst the top five brands, driven by affordable Y and T series models. OnePlus, with 35 per cent of shipments driven by Nord CE3 Lite, and Poco, also had growth of over 50 per cent YoY.

As per the recent IDC report for Q3 2023, POCO has attained an impressive growth rate of 50 per cent, moving up to the 7th position in the top 10 smartphone brands.
