The July 2018 Android security updates will be available for Google Pixel and Nexus devices this month for sure. According to a report by Times Now, the over-the-air update will be available for download to users around the world in coming days. The update contains one functional fix which improves WiFi connectivity on Pixel devices apart from security updates.

The security patch for Google Pixel and Nexus devices has started rolling out. This monthly software update is available for download as an over-the-air (OTA) update and as factory images and it fixes vulnerabilities in the Android operating system. A functional patch that improves WiFI connectivity with Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices is one of the main features of the security update.

In order to update to July 2018 Android security patch for Pixel and Nexus devices, check your Google Nexus or Pixel's android version number and security update level under Settings > About phone or About tablet. Then scroll down to 'android version' and 'android security patch level.' Users need to Settings > System update and then they will be given the update status.

According to the report, the Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2XL are guaranteed to receive Android software and security updates up to October 2020. The Pixel XL and Pixel will receive guaranteed Android updates to October 2018 and security updates until October 2019.
