The last 12 months have seen Realme and Xiaomi taking their rivalry to new levels. Both the Chinese smartphone manufacturers have been introducing newer technologies to outdo each other. Recently, Realme launched its first premium smartphone Realme X in India, just two days before Xiaomi was set to launch its flagship in the country - the Redmi K20 Pro. Both the launch events were full of jibes pointed at each other. Now, the battle continues as Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi has announced that it will launch a smartphone with 64MP primary rear camera on August 7 - a day before Realme is set to unveil its 64MP camera technology in India.

Just like Realme, Redmi too has teased its new 64MP camera in the past by sharing image samples claimed to be clicked by the same. These images looked great with lots of details and spot-on colours. It has been reported that Redmi's 64MP camera phone will use Samsung's ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor that the company launched earlier this year. Earlier, Xiaomi had confirmed that photos clicked with the 64MP image sensor will be up to 20MB in size. This means that the phone sporting this camera need to come with higher storage.

Redmi's 64MP camera smartphone is also believed to come with four cameras at the back. However, the company is yet to make it official. Also, the company hasn't revealed the name of this smartphone yet. Xiaomi India has also teased the camera samples of this smartphone which confirms that it will also be launched in the country. But, it is not clear when the phone is arriving in the Indian market.
