Xiaomi has launched two of its latest smartphones the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro in India, with the latter set to take on flagship smartphones like the OnePlus 7 Pro, the Oppo Reno 10X zoom, the Honor 20 Pro and the Asus 6Z in the Indian market. Both the smartphones were launched during an event in New Delhi on Wednesday – about two months after they were launched in China. Both the smartphones come with a 6.39-inch display, in-display fingerprint sensor, triple rear camera setup and a 4,000mAh battery. The company has also launched a special edition of the Redmi K20 Pro which has been priced at Rs 4.8 lakh.

Speaking on the occasion, Manu Jain, Managing Director, Xiaomi India, and Vice President, Xiaomi, said, “We are thrilled to launch the Redmi K20 series in India. As the first of our Redmi flagship series in India, Redmi K20 and K20 Pro truly redefine the ultimate flagship experience. While the premium 20K+ segment was relatively small traditionally, we are beginning to see massive growth in this segment. We hope Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 will completely disrupt this segment with the kind of experience on offer.  

Redmi K20, K20 Pro price in India 

The Redmi K20 Pro price in India starts at Rs 27,999 for 6GB + 128GB stoarge variant.

The Redmi K20 Pro price in India for 8gb + 256gb storage variant will be Rs 30,999. 

On the other hand, the Redmi K20 price in India starts at Rs 23,999 for 6GB + 128GB and the 6GB + 64GB variant has been priced at Rs 21,999.

In China, the Redmi K20 Pro is priced at Yuan 2499 (around Rs 25,000) for the base 6GB RAM and 64GB storage version. The phone is priced Yuan 2599 (around Rs 26,000) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version, Yuan 2799 (around Rs 28,000) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version. The most expensive storage variant of the smartphone is priced at Yuan 2999 (around Rs 30,000) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage version. 

Meanwhile, the Redmi K20 price starts at Yuan 1,999 (around Rs 20,000) for the base 6GB RAM and 64GB, while the 6GB RAM/128GB storage option costs Yuan 2099 (around Rs 21,000). The 8GB RAM/256GB storage costs Yuan 2,599 (around Rs 26,000). 

Redmi K20, K20 Pro features and specifications 

As mentioned above, the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro come with a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED display, in-display fingerprint sensor, triple rear camera setup and a 4,000mAh battery. The more premium K20 Pro variant of the smartphone sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, while the standard variant features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset. The company also claims, Redmi K20 Pro as the world's fastest smartphone and IT supports 27W fast charging whereas the K20 supports 4,000mAH battery and 18W fast charging. 

For photography, both the smartphones get a triple rear camera setup led by a 48MP primary sensor. Along with this you get a 20MP pop-up front camera for selfies. The AI triple rear camera comes with 48MP + 13MP + 8MP.

The phones will be available in Aura design in three colour options: Glacier Blue, Flame Red and Carbon Black. 

Redmi K20, K20 Pro availability

Both the smartphones will go on sale on on July 22 at 12 noon through Flipkart, mi website. Xiaomi has also launched a limited edition of Redmi K20 Pro which is made in pure gold and is diamond studded. The cost of manufacturing for the same is Rs 4.8 lakh and only 20 units would be made. The selling price is yet to be announced.
