Xiaomi has launched its new budget smartphone - Redmi 8A Dual, which will take on the recently launched Realme C3 in the Indian market. The Redmi 8A Dual brings a dual camera setup to the Redmi A series for the first time. The camera is equipped with Xiaomi’s capable AI Scene Detection and AI Portrait mode. It has Aura XGrip Design which claims to bring a premium experience with a mesh pattern on the rear enabling better grip while keeping fingerprints at bay.

The Redmi 8A Dual price in India starts at Rs 6,499 for the 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage variant while the 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage has been priced at Rs 6,999. The smartphone will go on sale via Mi.com, Amazon, Mi Homes and select authorized retail partners starting 18th February 12 noon and soon across all offline channels. It will be available in Sea Blue, Sky White and Midnight Grey colour options.

Redmi 8A dual features and specs

The smartphone features a 6.2-inch Dot Notch HD+ IPS display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. It is powered by Qualcom Snapdragon 439 octa-core chipset and the internal storage can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card. The phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and P2i’s nano-coating.

For optics, the phone features a 13MP primary sensor supported by a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, selfies, video calls and AI face unlock are facilitated by the 8MP camera. The smartphone packs a 5000mAh high-capacity two-day battery with support for 18W fast charging (10W fast charger inside the box). It also supports reverse charging through the Type-C port.
