It has been a busy last one month at Realme with the Chinese smartphone manufacturer launching its first premium smartphone - the Realme X in India - followed by the unveiling of its first ever 64MP camera in the country. Now, the company is set to launch Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro in India on August 20. The series will act as a successor to the Realme 3 series launched earlier this year. The Realme 5 series launch was confirmed by the company through the media invites rolled out on Monday morning. The smartphones were also teased on Flipkart, confirming that they will go on sale on the e-commerce platform.

During an event held on August 8, Realme CEO Madhav Sheth had hinted that both Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro can come with a quad camera setup. And, the same has been confirmed now as the series' tagline reads 'Leap to Quad Camera'. With this, the Realme 5 series smartphones would become the first devices from the company to sport four cameras.

The Flipkart teaser suggests that the four cameras on the Realme 5 series will be - primary, ultra-wide, super macro, and portrait. During the event, Madhav had also announced that all the upcoming smartphones in the Realme series, Realme X series and the Realme Pro series will come with four cameras at the back. However, he had not said anything about the smartphones' launch and their features. 

The series, however, is unlikely to sport company's 64MP smartphone camera, recently showcased in India.

Realme is expected to introduce its 64MP camera in another smartphone which the company has confirmed will be launched in the country before Diwali. During an exclusive conversation with Zee Business Online, Madhav had also confirmed that India will be the first country to get this device. 

Going by company's past launches, the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro should be priced at less than Rs 20,000. Also, both the smartphones should be an upgrade on Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro in terms of specs.
