Months after launching its AI-powered chatbot ChatGPT for iOS, OpenAI is all set to release a dedicated app for Android users by next week and it is already available for 'pre-order' on Google Play Store.

OpenAI came up with the Android version after ChatGPT got immense popularity after its launch on the iOS platform. While the AI chatbot or other OpenAI tools are easily available for access through the web interface, a dedicated application clearly provides a superior and compelling experience for the users.

In a statement issued on Saturday, OpenAI unveiled its plans for the Android release and wrote, "Announcing ChatGPT for Android! The app will be rolling out to users next week, and you can pre-order in the Google Play Store starting today."

 

 

This came after the app’s iOS version witnessed around half a million downloads in just its first week alone.

How to sign up for the ChatGPT Android app?

As the company promises the ChatGPT app for Android to offer a seamless experience that will closely mirror its iOS counterpart, the company has opened pre-orders in the Google Play Store. Those who want to try out the Android versions of the ChatGPT app can sign up for pre-ordering to ensure that they get a notification as soon as the app goes live next week.

Steps to sign up for the ChatGPT Android app:

1. Go to the Google Play Store on your Android device and search for 'ChatGPT'. 

2. Once you find the app, click on 'Install'. 

3. A dialog box will appear, notifying that the application will be automatically installed when it is available.

4. The app will be automatically downloaded and installed on your Android device.
