Ever since OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed last year in September that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer was working on the OnePlus TV, users are watching the space anxiously. Lau had said that the OnePlus TV will debut with a "total connected" experience and will emerge as a "premium, flagship TV." However, the company is yet to reveal anything since then. But, you could expect the OnePlus TV to arrive soon now. The development was confirmed by tipster Ishan Agarwal who tweeted that the OnePlus TV is not so far away from being launched.

"Have some good news for you all: The OnePlus TV is not very far away, at least according to one source. The launch might be soon, so stay tuned. I have very high expectations from it, what about you? #OnePlus #OnePlusTV ," he tweeted on June 21. However, Agarwal did not mention the launch date or the specifications of the TV. It is also unknown if OnePlus plans to launch the TV in India or in global markets.

But, the arrival of the OnePlus TV will make things interesting, especially for Xiaomi which has enjoyed massive success in India with its affordable lineup of Mi TVs.

Last year, during an interview, Lau had said that OnePlus was looking forward to the future. "The home - perhaps the most important environment experience - is just starting to enjoy the benefits of intelligent connectivity. Something that seems as simple as displaying the photos from your mobile phone to a television is still difficult to achieve. With the development of AI technology, our imagination is endless - and we are looking forward to the future," the executive had said.

The Shenzen-based company had also started taking registrations from its community to choose an official name of its first TV product. However, no details of the product have been revealed so far.
