OnePlus 8 vs OnePlus 8 Pro: The Chinese smartphone maker has launched its flagship smartphones globally. The OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro were unveiled during an online launch event on Tuesday. It was only last year that the company had adopted the policy of launching two smartphones at the same time. Both the new devices come with slight changes and bear different price tags. Here is a comparison of everything that’s on offer to give you a better view of what is on offer.

The newly launched smartphones are available in all global markets where OnePlus is available, including North America, Asia, and Europe. The smartphones will be launched In India in the coming months, the company has confirmed.

The OnePlus 8 price starts at $699 (Rs 53,200) for the variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, going up to $799 (Rs 60,800) for the variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The OnePlus 8 Pro price is even higher, making it company’s most expensive phone so far. It costs $899 (Rs 68,400) for the variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage and $999 (Rs 76,000) for the higher variant that comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Both the smartphones in the OnePlus 8 series are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset which makes them 5G ready. The Pro mode, of course comes with few upgrades. It has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The OnePlus 8 Pro has a slightly larger 4,510mAh battery, compared to the 4,300mAh battery on the OnePlus 8. It supports Warp Charge 30 Wireless, a new wireless fast charging standard developed by OnePlus.

On the OnePlus 8 Pro, you get a 6.78-inch QHD+ resolution (1,440x3,168 pixels) AMOLED screen, with an aspect ratio of 19.8:9 and 3D Corning Gorilla Glass on top. The OnePlus 8 has a full-HD+ resolution (1,080x2,400 pixels) AMOLED screen, with an aspect ratio of 20:9.

The Pro model takes the camera game to the next level. It has a quad camera setup with two 48-megapixel lenses. The primary camera is a 48-megapixel Sony IMX689 sensor, assisted by an 8-megapixel telephoto camera, 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and 5-megapixel colour filter camera. The front camera packs a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor.

The OnePlus 8 Pro has a triple-camera setup with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary rear camera sensor, a 2-megapixel macro camera and 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.
