The official Twitter handle of HMD Global in India, Nokia Mobile India, has posted a teaser of an upcoming device and speculations are doing rounds that this would be the upcoming Nokia 8.1 smartphone. The company is expected to launch the new device at an event in Dubai on December 5 along with two other devices.

Nokia has posted a nine-second video clip with the caption 'The picture’s about to get rosy with an epic viewing experience. Get ready to “#ExpectMore.” ' The video clip starts with the question “What do you expect from red?” and the background of the video comes with roses. “Get ready to #ExpectMore” is the next caption that appears on the screen.

With front and back glass design, HMD Global has already launched the Nokia X7 smartphone in China, last month. The phone comes with ZEISS optics lens and edge-to-edge notched display. Nokia X7 is likely to be launched globally, but instead of Nokia 7.1 Plus moniker, the phone is expected to be launched as Nokia 8.1.

According to reports, the device is likely to be launched in India on November 28, and is expected to be priced at Rs 23,999. The top variant of the smartphone is likely to come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage, at Rs 26,700 in China.

Expected specifications of Nokia 8.1
The device is likely to feature a 6.18-inch display with a resolution of 2246×1080 pixels, and an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. It is also likely to run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC with octa-core CPU, and Adreno 616 GPU and would come in three variants- GB RAM with 64GB storage, 6GB RAM with 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage.

The new smartphone is also expected to sport a 12-megapixel primary sensor coupled with a 13-megapixel secondary sensor with telephoto lens for zoom and portrait mode, according to bgr.in.

At the front, the device is likely to sport a 20-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. It is also likely to support AI scene detection and would detect between 18 different scene types to optimize the photos.

Connectivity options are likely to include SIM card slots, Bluetooth, 4G LTE with VoLTE, and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.

Nokia 8.1 is expected to be powered by a 3,500mAh battery with fast charging feature and would also include 3.5mm audio socket and supports Nokia OZO stereo recording.
