HMD Global has confirmed that Nokia 4.2 will be launched in India on May 7 - the same day when Google plans to unveil its latest Pixel 3a series. In a teaser posted on Twitter, HMD Global confirmed that the smartphone, which made its debut at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 exhibition in Barcelona, Spain, in February, will arrive in India on Tuesday. The teaser shows a power button with an LED notification light and a dedicated Google Assistant button that were the highlights of Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 3.2. The latter was also unveiled at the MWC 2019.

The teaser comes days after both the smartphones were listed on Nokia's website. The 14-second teaser was posted on Twitter on Friday last, informing that the phone will make its debut in four days. The teaser showcases a handset with a power button sporting an LED notification light and a dedicated Google Assistant button. 

It will be interesting to see if Nokia 3.2 is also launched along with Nokia 4.2 in India.

What to expect from Nokia 4.2?

Nokia 4.2 is a dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone that runs Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box and features a 5.71-inch HD+ (720x1520 pixels) a-Si TFT display along with a 19:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass protection. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, paired with up to 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The internal storage can be expanded up to 400 GB using the microSD card. It has a dual rear camera setup that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.2 lens and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.2 lens.

On the front, Nokia 4.2 has an 8-megapixel selfie camera. For connectivity, it has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone is powered by a 3,000mAh battery and measures a 148.95x71.30x8.39mm.

Nokia 4.2 expected price in India

The official price of the phone will be announced at the launch event. But, the global price was set at $169 (approx: Rs 11,700) for the 2GB RAM + 16GB storage variant, while its 3GB RAM + 32GB storage model is priced at $199 (approx: Rs 13,800). 

In India, the smartphone will compete against Realme 3 Pro,  Redmi Note 7 Pro and Samsung Galaxy M30.
