Whatsapp has recently submitted a new update through the TestFlight Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.19.60.26. As per WhatsApp tracker WABetainfo, the beta update has removed the ability to save profile pictures of the contacts in the app. However, this feature is still available in WhatsApp groups where users can save group icons.

This beta update has also bought album improvements and tweaks in the audio export format. So, if users receive multiple photos in a chat, then WhatsApp groups them in a single bubble and will show the total size of the album and the number of items that are there in it.  In audio export format, the original voice message format in WhatsApp is Opus.

However, this feature is not supported by many apps. So, to resolve this problem, WhatsApp for iOS now exports Opus files as M4A (AAC codec).
Whatsapp also recommends to back the chat history before updating to the new beta and if in case something is wrong with the update, the user's messages are safe on iCloud.

Earlier, WhatsApp for Android received a new updated version of 2.19.150 which plays audio messages consecutively. In March this year, this feature was initially spotted in WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.19.86.
