Motorola revealed on Wednesday that it is offering a BuyBack Guarantee offer with the new Moto G5 Plus on its exclusive online retail partner Flipkart. This announcement was made ahead of its launch on Wednesday in India.

This means that customers can enjoy a fixed discount rate with the exchange of their smartphone within a certain limited time.

Flipkart has given the Moto G5 Plus offer on its site through its notes but since the price of the Moto G5 Plus is yet to be announced it cannot reveal the exact buyback price yet.

So what is this BuyBack Guarantee? This means that if a customer chooses to exchange the Moto G5 Plus for another smartphone 6 to 8 months later after they purchased it, they will get a fixed exchange discount.

They gave example of the BuyBack Guarantee of Rs 12,001. So, if the users buy a new phone worth Rs 30,000 while exchanging their Moto G5 Plus, they will only have to pay Rs 17,999.

Flipkart notes that if customers try to buy a smartphone in exchange of the Moto G5 Plus more than 8 months after the purchase they will get a discount based on the prevailing smartphone rates. However, to qualify for the BuyBack Guarantee offer the new smartphone will have to price more than the Moto G5 Plus. It will also have to be in good condition with screen intact at the time of exchange and with the original box, charger and accessories, which have to be in working condition.

The offer makes it easier for customers to upgrade to the new smartphones much easier. Users can also opt for a doorstep pick up.

The company had unveiled the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus on Sunday at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona. It has been one of the most anticipate smartphone launches for the year.

In terms of price the Moto G5 starts at Euro 199 (about Rs 14,000) and the G5 Plus will be priced at $299 (about Rs 15,300).

Both the smartphones will come with a metal body design. The difference between the Moto G5 and the G5 Plus will be the size of the display. While the Moto G5 will come with a 5 inch display, the G5 Plus will come with a 5.2 inch display.

Other differences in the specifications include the processors. While the Moto G5 comes with a Snapdragon 430 processor, the Moto G5 Plus comes with a slightly faster Snapdragon 625 processor. The Moto G5 will only offer the 2GB or 3GB RAM options, but the Moto G5 Plus will come with 2GB, 3GB and 4GB variants.

In terms of internal storage too the Moto G5 Plus offers higher space of 32GB and 64GB internal storage, the G5 on the other hand has the lower 16GB and 32GB variants. Both offer extendable memory options via microSD card up to 128GB.

In terms of the battery the Moto G5 has a 2800mAh battery and G5 Plus comes with a little higher battery power of 3000mAh.

Both the phones run on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The Moto G5 and G5 Plus will also get Google Assistant, a feature which is exclusively available on Google Pixel and Pixel XL.

In terms of the camera the G5 Plus features a 12 megapixel camera with dual autofocus pixels and Moto G5 will come along with a 13 megapixel rear camera.
