By a competition on home grown e-commerce website - Flipkart it had managed to increase site traction. Smartphone enthusiasts who were up to the SuperPhone challenge by Flipkart garnered page views for the company up to 15 lakh in just over two weeks.

"Flipkart got close to 15 lakh unique visitors visiting the contest page in a matter of 2.5 weeks," the company said in an email to Zeebiz.

Flipkart said that if a user was able to find a ‘challenger’ phone that bested its own handpicked ‘SuperPhones,’ the customer would get a full cashback on its original smartphone purchase.

The ‘superphones’ could be challenged in aspects like – better storage space, battery power, resolution type, finger print sensor and even if the ‘challenger’ phones took better pictures.

The company had listed 12 of its ‘best selling smartphones’ and asked customers to challenge their picks.

The challenge that was supposed to last from July 24 to August 4 was extended to August 8, the company added. During this time, Flipkart said it garnered almost 15 lakh ‘unique’ visitors to its site in a matter of 2.5 weeks.

On winning the challenge, customers would be entitled to e-Gift vouchers by the company that could be redeemed on purchase form Flipkart. “Winners will be contacted by Flipkart directly via email or phone, within 30 days of the Challenge Period," Flipkart said.

However the company did not reveal if the challenge left any customer victorious.

“The highest number entries were received for Moto C Plus,” Flipkart said.
