When asked to comment on what type of competition he sees from brands like Samsung and others, Chitkara told Zee Business that LG doesn't see any challenge from competitors.

"We have maintained a huge gap in terms of overall market size when compared with other brands. We have a huge range of products and today's launch has further strengthened our market leadership. Rather than focusing on what our competitors are doing, we are focusing on providing more consumer-centric solutions, which will definitely reflect on our market share," Chitkara added.

Talking about innovations in the AC segment, Chitkara said that other brands have been treating air conditioners as cooling boxes for a long time and only LG has done a lot of experiments with them.

"I still feel that AC has been treated as a cooling box over the years and nobody has ever thought of doing so much with air conditioners like we have been doing. As a result, we have today launched India's first AC with Energy Manager," he added.

While Chitkara feels that the success of the company must be attributed to the latest innovation in the 2024 lineup - consisting of 77 new models, he said that LG is hopeful of selling at least two million units of air conditioners during the summer season.

"This (AC) business is quite tricky and depends too much on the summer season. With the current pace, we are expecting to sell at least two million units of air conditioners. However these numbers can go even beyond," he added.
