Infinix launched its latest smartphone - S4 - in India on Tuesday, promising the best camera experience in this category. The smartphone comes with a 32MP selfie camera and a triple rear camera setup with 13MP+2MP+8MP sensors. The company claims to bring the largest selfie camera sensor-size to the front camera in its segment, apart from features like AI-enabled auto scene detection and beautification. The smartphone has been launched in three colours - Nebula Blue, Twilight Purple and Space Gray.

The Infinix S4 comes with a 6.26-inch HD+ display with 720 x 1520 pixels resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio. It has a water-drop notch design and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek’s Helio P22 Cortex-A53 processor with a clock speed of 2.0 GHz, along with PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The smartphone has been launched in single storage variant - 3GB RAM and 32 GB ROM. The latter can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. The smartphone has been priced at Rs 8,999 and will go on sale on May 28 on Flipkart.

He added, "With S4, we aim to have a breakthrough in the below 10k smartphone segment, which has great demand but experiences limited to non-existent competition till now."

Focus on camera

With S4, Infinix has paid special focus on camera. S4's selfie camera has biggest sensor size of 1/2.8inch in the segment and uses 4-in-1 Ultra pixel technology to bring 1.6μm big pixel. Its AI portrait selfie feature uses AI to identify and highlight the subject of the image, resulting in detailed, clear and stunning picture quality. 

At the back, S4 has 13MP primary lens with f1.8 big aperture, 2MP depth sensor and 8MP wide-angle lens. The third sensor allows users to click wide angle shots. The company has also added customizable Bokeh to the camera which allows users to control the amount of blur they want to make the subject stand out better. For low light photography, S4 has LED flash option rather than Dual-LED. It also comes with auto scene detection across eight modes including portrait, text, night, backlight HDR, blue sky, sports and others.

Performance is key

Infinix claims that S4 is a completely performance-oriented phone, built to suit the multi-tasking and heavy usage needs of current smartphone users. It runs on Android Pie 9.0, boosted by XOS 5.0 Cheetah OS layer. It is powered by a 4000mAh Battery with AI-enabled smart power management and 12nm Helio P22 2.0GHz Octa-Core Processor.

Entry into smart wearables

Infinix also announced its entry into the smart wearable category with the launch of X Band 3 - a fitness band that offers comprehensive and real-time monitoring of variables such as heart rate, BP monitoring, sleep and activity tracking, Oxygen levels, calorie intake, outdoor running, step counting etc. The device is first to feature color display in its price category, apart from offering viewers updates on weather, sets Smart task reminders, remote-music control, Smart touch key etc. The device has battery-life duration of 20 days.
