Reliance Jio Giga Fiber broadband connection registrations have started. Reliance Jio today started the registration for optical fibre based fixed-line broadband service. Jio has claimed to offer download speed of one gigabit per second through the GigaFiber connection.  "JioGigaFiber. Make your neighbourhood #Gigaready with Gigabit wifi, TV, smart home, free calling and more," reads the registration option in MyJio App.

Rival broadband operators at present offer download speed up to 100 megabit per second for around Rs 1,000 per month for home users. Jio had said its broadband connection will offer around 10 times more speed than competitors to home users. 

How to register online for Jio GigaFiber

You can express your interest in Jio GigaFiber for following these steps:
 
1. First, to visit the official website "https://gigafiber.jio.com/registration" to register online for the Jio broadband service. 

2. Enter your address by pressing the "Change" button and hit the "Submit" button. 

3. Enter your name and phone number on the next page, then hit the "Generate OTP" button.

4. Enter the OTP, select type of locality (Society, township, developer etc) and "Submit".

Jio GigaFiber price

Jio has not yet disclosed the price yet. Reports have earlier claimed that Jio GigaFiber will trigger a stiff competition among telecom firms. Jio GigaFiber, is expected to be available for users from the upcoming Diwali fest at almost half price of similar services offered by other companies, according to a report.

Number of cities where Jio GigaFiber will be launched

Reliance Jio's parent firm Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh D Ambani, had earlier announced that Jio GigaFiber would be launched simultaneously across 1,100 cities for homes, merchants, small and medium enterprises and large enterprises. "For the home, this will mean ultra high definition entertainment on your large screen televisions, multi-party video conferencing from the comfort of your living room, voice-activated virtual assistants who obey your every command, virtual reality gaming and digital shopping," Ambani had said.

"In countries with better-developed communication infrastructure, more than 80 per cent of data consumption happens indoors through fixed line connectivity in homes, in offices and other premises...Jio is determined to move India to among the top 5 in fixed-line broadband, too," RIL chairman had said further.
