Smartphones are now an integral part of our lives. Not just grown-ups but even small kids are having easy access to smartphones and other such devices. But this has become a cause of concern for majorities of parents these days. They are concerned about what kind of content their kids are going to access online. On top of that, there is always a threat of phishing attacks. While there are some parent lock features available in certain apps, this doesn't offer a foolproof solution.

To address these issues, a Pune-based tech startup has come up with a device, to be launched on July 31, that offers a safe internet solution for children by connecting to the home router. Happy Parents Lab is all set to launch Happinetz Box that can be connected either wired or wirelessly.

Happy Parents Lab promises a secure internet solution for kids without installing any apps on their devices. It connects to the home router, wired or wirelessly, without any hassle. The device filters age-inappropriate content and phishing attacks, categorizing them under 15 different categories.

"Happinetz Box works as your home internet’s filtering system. It creates a separate WiFi network that works in tandem with a central server system to deploy safe internet for kids. The home router or devices connected to it are not impacted by this. The box has the capability to manage as many as ten devices ranging from phones to smart TVs without requiring any app installation on kids’ devices. The box can be connected to the home router as wired or wirelessly and hence can be moved around within the home’s wifi range," said Richa Singh Co-founder and CEO of Happinetz.

Parents can use the Happinetz app's user-friendly interface to curate their child's internet access. With the toggle button, they can control access to specific categories of content. The app also offers an easy screen time manager, allowing parents to set and adjust internet timings effortlessly.

"Additionally, parents can gain valuable insights through intuitive graphs, giving them a clear understanding of their child's internet usage history for each device. This enables parents to make informed decisions about their
child's online activities," Singh added.

The app is compatible with iOS 13 and newer versions as well as Android 6.0 and newer versions. The device is priced at Rs 4,499 and is compatible with all routers and internet service providers.
