We are less than a week away from the launch of the new affordable flagship from Google and the launch date has been confirmed by e-commerce giant Flipkart. According to a new teaser which went live on Flipkart on Wednesday, the new Google Pixel 3a series will be launched on May 8. But, due to the time difference between IST and PDT, the smartphones will be unveiled in India on May 7. The series is expected to have two smartphones - the Google Pixel 3a and the Google Pixel 3a XL. The launch event will coincide with the commencement of the Google I/O annual developers conference.

The teaser on Flipkart doesn't mention the name of the smartphones or the series but has a Google logo. It says that 'Something Big' will be arriving into the Pixel universe on May 8. The teaser further says that more details will be given on May 8. Going by the leaks so far and the Google logo, there is no reason to doubt that the teaser is for the Google Pixel 3a series.

Earlier, the search engine giant had released a promo on the Google Store hinting at the May 7 launch. The promo had said that a “new hero" may be coming on May 7. The smartphone is expected to have a 6-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 and pixel density of 400 DPI. It might be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 710 processor.

The upcoming launch was also confirmed by leakster Evan Blass (@Evleaks) who posted an image of the device on Twitter last month. Going by the images shared by Blass, the smartphone looks very similar to Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL, when it comes to design. It is expected to be powered by a Snadpragon 675 processor, the same one found inside the Redmi Note 7 Pro. 

Both the smartphones should have at least 4G RAM. 

Also, the poster on Flipkart leading to the mean teaser talks about poor lighting in images after twilight. This suggests that the new Google Pixel 3a series will come with support for Night Sight. Previous leaks also suggest that the two smartphones could support Google’s Pixel Visual Core chip for remarkable improvements over standard image processing.
