Google I/O 2022 Event LIVE updates, streaming: Google I/O 2022, Google's annual developer conference, is virtually set to start from today. The conference is scheduled to begin at 10 AM PDT (10:30PM) with a keynote address from Alphabet Inc CEO Sundar Pichai and go on until May 12 (Thursday).

Google announced the Pixel Buds Pro which offer active noise cancelling powered by a new custom audio processor. The earbuds will also come with a transparency mode for when users want to hear what's going on outside. The Pixel Buds Pro will offer 11 hours of battery life or 7 horus with ANC turned on.​

Google also revealed the first look at the Pixel 7 series with the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Both phones will come with a new design and Android 13 out of the box. More details on the Pixel 7-series should be available soon.​

Soon, a new tool will let you more easily request the removal of Google Search results containing your contact details — such as your home address, phone number and email address. This feature will be available in the Google app and on individual Google Search results. 

Later this year, Google will launch My Ad Center. You’ll be able to easily manage your ads privacy settings and even choose to see ads from categories or brands you like — giving you more control over the ads you see across YouTube, Search and Discover.

When you use autofill to complete payment details, Virtual Cards on Chrome and Android will replace your actual card number with a distinct, virtual number. Your real number is kept private — keeping you safer and more secure.

2-Step Verification is a proven way to protect your accounts — and prevent cyberattacks. Google was the first consumer tech company to turn 2SV on by default, enrolling 150 million accounts last year. And They will continue to make it easier to stay safe.

Google is expanding our AI-powered phishing protections to more products. Soon, they will automatically alert you if we detect a suspicious link in Google Docs, Sheets or Slides — and then take you back to safety.

Also, in the future, you'll be able to pan your camera, ask a question and see relevant information overlaid in the context of the world around you. It's like a supercharged CTRL+F for the real world.

Sundar Pichai is back to talk about LaMDA 2, "our most conversational AI yet." LaMDA helps conversations stay on track and not divert from one topic to another while giving users useful information about the topic at hand.

Time to ignore Hey Google! - Google announces 'Look and Talk' feature where users will be able to simply look at their Nest Hub Max and start a conversation or five commands. This new feature will begin to roll out today itself. The device will feature Face and voice match technology, not requiring users to say, "Hey Google" every time they need to ask a question.

Later this month, Google will launch new Real Tone filters in Google Photo that are designed to work across skin tones, and evaluated using the Monk Scale. These new Real Tone filters allow you to choose from a wider assortment of looks and find one that reflects your style

Now for makeup queries in Google Images, like “everyday eyeshadow” and “bridal makeup looks,” you'll find a new way to filter by relevant skin tones to find more helpful results.

In partnership with Dr. Ellis Monk, Google is releasing a new skin tone scale designed to be more inclusive of the full spectrum of skin tones — the next step in our commitment to image equity and improving representation across our products.

Google recently launched multisearch in the Google app, which lets you search by taking a photo and asking a question at the same time. Later this year, you'll be able to take a picture or screenshot and add "near me" to get local result.

Google Lens helps you search what you see. It's now used over 8 billion times a month, which is nearly a 3X increase since last year, said company's top executive.

Google is also adding 24 new languages to Google Translate — the first using a breakthrough machine learning approach called Zero-Shot Machine Translation, where the model learns a new language without ever seeing a direct translation of it. 

Now, Google Docs will allow the popular writing tool to summarize entire documents automatically. Pichai also revealed that the feature will also come to other Google services.

Google Meet has now improved audio and video quality powered by project starline. The service also gets studio quality lighting effects that will help with darker settings during video conferences.

Google's YouTube  platform will now enable 10x more videos to get auto-generated captions. Auto translated captions in 16 languages also comes to YouTube soon.

Eco-friendly routing in Google Pichai has helped save more than an estimated half a million metric tons of carbon emissions — equivalent to taking 100,000 cars off the road. We’re on track to double this by the end of 2022 as we expand to more places, including Europe, according to Sundar Pichai.

Pichai also said that Immersive view in Google Maps is a new way to experience what a neighborhood, landmark, restaurant and venue will be like — and even feel like you’re right there. It uses advances in computer vision and AI to fuse together billions of Street View images. 

Whether it’s helping people find a COVID vaccine, notifying 23 million people of flooding in India and Bangladesh, or deploying air raid alerts in Ukraine, Google products are built to help, said Pichai.

Google I/O 2022 keynote begins, and Sundar Pichai is on the stage has started speaking. ​

Finally! The Google I/O event has started.

Ahead of the Google event, CEO Sundar Pichai tweeted about the keynote event.

- This year's Google I/O event will focus on the company's latest developments towards Android and Wear OS and the launch of new hardware.

- During this two-day conference, Google is likely to bring Pixel Watch, a smartphone -- Pixel 6a, and Pixel Buds Pro. Additionally, the US-based tech giant is expected to give more details on its next Android OS version – Android 13, Wear OS, among others.

 

Google will announce updates to its cloud infrastructure and other platforms and tools such as Flutter, Firebase, and artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) based platforms. Also, Google will announce updates to its consumer-centric offerings, which includes Android OS, Chrome OS, Google Play and Maps among others.

The company has also opened a poll on its official Android handle on Twitter asking users “Which update are you most excited to see on May 11–12?” The options include — Security Updates, Messaging Updates, Cross Device Updates and New Partnerships.

Google has already shared a tentative timeline of launch for its upcoming Android 13 mobile operating system. The company shared the first beta preview of the Android 13 OS last month. It is possible that the company uses the platform to release the second beta version of the OS and talk a little bit more about the key features of the Android 12 successor, the BGR India report said. 

Android 13 will also bring a new Photo Picker feature which will allow users to share photos and videos securely with other apps. Also, Google will also introduce a new feature in Android 13 that requires users to give permission for notifications.

Google typically uses Google I/O to launch out its mid-budget smartphone. The company is expected to keep up with this trend in 2022 with the launch of Pixel 6A smartphone.. As per reports, Google’s Pixel Watch is also expected to come. This smartwatch may come with a circular design, physical crown, and Fitbit integration. Additional features include SPO2 tracker, sleep apnea detection, heartbeat alert, stress tracking, and calorie tracking among other things.

In addition to this, the company is also expected to introduce updates to its virtual assistant — Google Assistant — Chrome OS, Google Play Store and Google Maps at the event.
