Spam calls are at times irritating. Often they create disturbances when one is busy with important work. To solve this problem technology giant Google has come up with a solution. The technology company has rolled out an app which can filter spam calls automatically.
The "caller ID and spam protection" app will be able to detect and filter spam calls. Not only that, the app also eliminates all notifications and alerts for those calls, according to an IANS report.

"You`ll still see filtered calls in your call history and be able to check any voicemail you receive," Google wrote in a post on Friday.  The user has to send information about their calls to Google to get the "caller ID and spam protection" facility.

Though the caller ID and spam protection are on by default, users can turn it off. This would work on Android version 6 and above and option to turn it off is available in the settings of the Phone app.
