Dark mode for Facebook can be enabled by clicking the toggle in the Settings tab. The new immersive layout along with Dark Mode makes viewing videos on Watch a great experience, said Facebook in its blog post.

The mode also helps users reduce the glare, Facebook noted. The low brightness will be easier on the eyes with contrast and vibrancy. The dark mode proves advantageous to desktop users using Facebook in low light. In addition to this, the layout has been tweaked, too, to get better watching experience.

"We’ve grown since Facebook.com launched 16 years ago. We’ve built new features, optimized for new devices and operating systems, and expanded to hundreds of languages. Recently we’d focused on the mobile Facebook experience, and realized our desktop site had fallen behind. People need it to keep up," said Facebook while announcing the new design.

The other features introduced by the platform include easier navigation which will allow users to find or navigate things conveniently - be it groups, games , people or pages, the redesign will help users discover things in a jiffy. It also noted that the pages will load faster and that the desktop experience will be close to using Facebook on mobile.

A new ‘+’ sign has also been added next to the Settings icon on the top-right corner which lets you create groups faster while offering a preview in real-time. The same ‘+’ sign can be used to create a new page, ad or an event. The new design update has been rolled out to all users worldwide and can be accessed on any web browser.
