Facebook app update: As per the data from Facebook officials, there are roughly 700 million users throughout the world who engage in video game-related content every month. Users get involved in these gaming content, while chatting in gaming communities, playing games etc.

To bind these groups or category of users and provide them with a new stage for gaming, Facebook has announced that it's ready to roll out an updated version of its mobile application with a brand new dedicated Facebook Gaming tab or section.

After updating the app, it will show a new tab in the main navigation bar, allowing users to go directly to sections like video game news, streams, groups etc.

There are a number of gaming groups on Facebook for every popular game in the world, It allows users to directly communicate with other gamers. The company also claims that Gaming groups are one of the most engaging communities on Facebook.

On this Gaming section, users watch live and offline gaming videos, they follow streamers/gamers to see the most recently published videos from them. Also, based on the user’s preferences and choices, Facebook recommends its users about new gaming content developers in the gaming tab.

Though the social network has planned to roll out the new update for gaming users, Facebook is also planning to launch a special Facebook Gaming app with additional features soon.

Facebook is doing a beta test of its standalone Facebook Gaming app on Android, which will include additional features than Facebook Gaming tab as per Facebook officials. 

At present, the dedicated gaming tab will only be visible to a small subset of over 700 million users who love gaming on Facebook each month. While, in the meantime, users can tap Facebook's older gaming section in the Bookmarks menu prior to the update.
