Only a few days before Poco launched its second smartphone in India, its General Manager C Manmohan took to Twitter to take a jibe at its competitor Realme, saying that it is losing its 'X' factor as the later saw a decline in its market share post-festive season in India. The tweet came in response to Realme CEO Madhav Sheth's earlier tweet that asked Xiaomi to behave like a market leader.

"Why should anyone be worried about a brand that declined 50% last quarter? अब वो "X" factor नहीं रहा boss!!" Manmohan had tweeted, while taking a dig at Realme’s X-series of smartphones. Interestingly, Poco also named its new smartphone Poco X2, positioning it directly against the Realme X2. But, has Realme actually lost its 'X' factor? We thought who could answer this better than the man who claimed so.

"Let's see," said Poco India General Manager C Manmohan, as he laughed before adding that only time will tell. However, Manmohan was quick to say that the exchange of words was restricted to Twitter and Poco respects each and every competitor.

"There is nothing much to say about it. He just said something and we gave a reply to that. But, it was all restricted to Twitter. We respect each and every competition and we will continue to do that," Manmohan told Zee Business Online, in an exclusive conversation on the sidelines of Poco X2 launch.

He further said that there is no problem in exchanging a few words with each other. "That is essentially what Twitter is meant for," Manmohan said, before he had another exchange of words on the micro-blogging website, this time with Realme India CMO Francis Wang. Replying to a tweet from Wang, Manmohan said that presenting facts is not cheating before inviting him to get on a call.

"Cheating is not right, in case customers understand the difference between fast charging standards," Wang's tweet had read.

Realme and Xiaomi have been competing hard against each other since former's entry in the Indian market about 18 months back. Both the companies take frequent digs at each other during their launch presentations. The Poco X2 launch event was another example of the same.

Interestingly, we asked a similar question to Realme CEO Madhav Sheth last year about the rivalry with Xiaomi to which he said that they have respected all the brands in the Indian market and more competition is always better for the users.
