Digital India via its official Twitter account has said that passwords provide the first line of defence against unauthorized access to your computer and personal information.

"Passwords provide the first line of defence against unauthorized access to your computer and personal information. The stronger your password, the more protected your computer will be!," Digital India tweeted.

 

It has also shared 5 basic steps to create strong passwords. Here is how you can create a strong and secure password:

1. Use passwords of at least 8 characters.

2. Use a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.

3. Avoid using people's or pet's names.

4. Avoid using key dates (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.)

5. Make it look like a series of random characters.

In another tweet Digital India has said that two factor authentication or 2FA is an extra layer of protection used to ensure the security of online accounts.

"Two Factor Authentication, or 2FA, is an extra layer of protection used to ensure the security of online accounts beyond just a username and password," it tweeted.

 

The State Bank of India (SBI), time and again, reminds its customers against the threats of cybercrime and suggests ways and means to avoid such unfortunate incidents.

Earlier in the month of August, the State Bank of India had also alerted its customers for frauds and had given 8 tips to create strong password.

 

"A strong password ensures higher levels of security. Here are 8 ways in which you can create an unbreakable password and protect yourself from cybercrime. Stay alert & Safe With SBI!" SBI had tweeted.
