Cloudwalker Burst E3000 Soundbar Review: There is something about a soundbar that makes it different from other audio devices in the market. While most television sets these days offer a decent audio output, a good soundbar can take your viewing experience to the next level. That last minute goal that wins a FIFA game with Martin Tyler’s commentary playing at 100 Watts has a different sound to it altogether if you have the requisite device! The popularity of OTT platforms that provide high fidelity audio further underlines the importance of a great speaker.

The problem, however, is that the Indian market has always been short of options when it comes to soundbars, especially in the budget segment. Cloudwalker recently tried to address that with the launch of Cloudwalker Burst E3000 soundbar which we are set to review here. Priced at Rs 7,999, the soundbar fits most pockets but is it worth spending this amount on it? Let’s find out.

Cloudwalker Burst E3000 Soundbar review: Design

Cloudwalker Burst E3000 Soundbar is a tall yet extremely good-looking device. The retail box itself is captivating and comes in an unusual L-shape. The soundbar measures over three feet in length (94 cm). It has a metal grille on top of the black body. The soundbar is coupled with a wooden subwoofer unit with a 5.25-inch driver placed on the right. Both the bar and the woofer are slightly heavy and need to be handled carefully during installation.

Cloudwalker provides almost all the cables you need to install the soundbar. The box includes a 3.5 mm Aux cable, an RCA to Aux cable and a connecting cable for the bar and Woofer which is tall enough to maintain distance between the two boxes.

The 3.5mm Aux cable, however, is slightly shorter in length and I had to make some adjustments to the positioning of the soundbar to connect it with my smart TV.

The input ports are placed at the back of the soundbar and you get the controls on top. These include four buttons (volume control keys, source selection and Play/Pause). The box also includes a wireless IR remote control.

The most striking design element of the soundbar is the long LED on front that displays eleven different colours, allowing you to choose between them using the remote. There is also a multi-coloured LED on front. It blinks when a device is connected or the mode is changed. There is a different colour for each mode which is good to see.

Cloudwalker Burst E3000 Soundbar review: Performance

The ongoing lockdown gave me enough time to test the soundbar and check every mode on it. For the last month, I have used it to provide background score during my cooking sessions and to binge watch a few series on streaming platforms.

The connectivity options on the soundbar include Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5 mm aux in, coaxial line in, and optical in. The soundbar has four 2.25-inch drivers to deliver an output of 40W which is combined with 5.25-inch subwoofer that offers an additional output of 60W. So, you get a combined output of 100W which is enough to get you thrown out of your housing society, if played at full volume.

During my time with the Soundbar, I could feel a clear difference in the audio output through Bluetooth and Aux. The soundbar was louder when used via Bluetooth. The output was slightly inconsistent on Aux.

I watched all episodes of ‘The Test’ on this soundbar to overwhelming results. The Cloudwalker Burst E3000 soundbar comes with impressive bass and the ability to adjust it, works in favour of the device. The sound of the ball hitting the bat, commentary behind it and spectators cheering gave a theatre-like experience at home.

I also hosted a FIFA tournament and the audio output just adds to the already building tension in the game.

I also watched a few movies on Cloudwalker Burst E3000 Soundbar and the dialogues were pretty clear. Having said that, you will have to adjust the bass and treble depending upon the media being played otherwise the experience can be a bit sour.

The audio tends to distort a bit on the higher levels but you are unlikely to touch those levels very often.

Coming to the shortcomings, the first would be the absence of USB ports. This means that you don’t have the option to connect a pen drive to the soundbar. There is also no Dolby support for audio which is a big let-down. Also, there are some features that can only be controlled using the remote. So, if you damage or lose it, you can be in a lot of trouble.

Cloudwalker Burst E3000 Soundbar review: Final Verdict

Any soundbar that costs less than a five figure sum, makes a strong case for itself in India. At Rs 7,999, the Cloudwalker Burst E3000 Soundbar has several exciting things to offer including 100 Watts output, multiple audio inputs, strong base, fancy lights and more. It is a definitely an upgrade on the audio offered by your TV sets. Yet, you will have to compromise on some important features like HDMI ARC, Dolby support and USB ports if you go for it.
