Apple has shocked more with the killing of its older iPhones than surprised with its new launches. In fact, aside from the having launched the biggest and priciest iPhones ever, there is not much to go ga-ga over the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XR. However, it has shocked and awed by discontinuing three older iPhones - iPhone X, iPhone 6s, iPhone SE despite these being quite popular with buyers. Apple also launched the new Apple Watch Series 4 yesterday,

Although these three iPhones have been removed by Apple form its official website, but there's no clarity on whether the customers would be able to buy those from the other e-commerce websites or retailers. According to media reports, Apple will likely discontinue the restocking of iPhone X, iPhone 6s and iPhone SE in the Indian market. In fact, you will not be able to buy these ''banned''  iPhones from Apple authorised resellers.

The discontinuation of the iPhone SE and iPhone 6s means that there would be no iPhone with a headphone jack as the iPhone 7 onwards mobile devices do not have headphone jacks. On the other hand, iPhone X is redundant now, as the new iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max come with new and upgraded notch display along with a notch on top and edge-to-edge displays. The newly launched iPhones now are made up of feature glass back and stainless steel frame and allow wireless charging.

After its annual iPhone event, every year Apple discontinues the older phones along with dropping the prices of the older generation iPhones. This year it has dropped the whole iPhone X series altogether and has also dropped the prices of iPhone 7, and iPhone 8 series.

The iPhone X series was not sold in huge volumes but according to reports, it has generated the largest amount of revenue for Apple.
