In a recent report, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shed light on the forthcoming enhancements to Apple's iPhone lineup, slated for release in 2024 and 2025. The upgrades are expected to include advanced camera technologies and cutting-edge features, potentially influencing the pricing of these upcoming models. Here's a comprehensive overview of what to expect.

iPhone 16 Pro Camera:

Kuo's report reveals that the iPhone 16 Pro will be equipped with the tetraprism zoom camera, a feature initially introduced in the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Notably, the standard Pro version is anticipated to undergo a significant screen size increase, jumping to 6.27 inches—a notable upgrade from the historical 6.1-inch screen size of the vanilla Pro model.

Additionally, the standard 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera is set to undergo a remarkable transformation, evolving into a 48MP 1/2.55-inch (0.7µm) unit. Despite this substantial upgrade, the lens will continue to produce pixel-binned 12MP 1.4µm images, maintaining the integrity of image quality. The ultrawide camera will retain its 6P lens design.

iPhone 17 Selfie Camera:

Looking ahead to the iPhone 17 series, Kuo predicts a substantial improvement in the selfie camera module. All iPhone 17 models are expected to feature a new 24MP unit with a 6P lens, marking a considerable leap from the current 12MP 5P unit found in existing iPhones.

According to Kuo, Genius (Yujingguang) will be the exclusive supplier for the new ultrawide and selfie camera modules. This strategic partnership is anticipated to contribute significantly to Genius's revenue, with a substantial increase projected for the second half of 2024 and 2025.

Additional Features and Upgrades:

Beyond the camera enhancements, Kuo hints at several other upgrades across the iPhone 16 series. Speculations suggest that all models will be powered by the in-house A18 chipset, ensuring improved performance. Furthermore, AI-enhanced Siri, upgraded microphones, and iOS 18 with features reminiscent of ChatGPT are expected to be integrated into the iPhone 16 models. The series will also incorporate the newly introduced Action Button, initially unveiled with the iPhone 15 Pro series.
