“This update provides important bug fixes and security updates,” the tech giant said.

Apple identified a few conditions which can cause new iPhones to run warmer than expected, including a bug in the iOS 17 software update and some third-party apps like Instagram.

According to reports, iOS 17.0.3 also comes with two important security fixes, including a fix for a breach that had been actively exploited.

The security update also fixes a WebRTC exploit where attackers could use a buffer overflow to execute code arbitrarily. iOS 17.0.3 and iPadOS 17.0.3 are now available for iPhone and iPad model compatible with iOS 17 and iPadOS 17.

Earlier, several users complained about overheating issues related to iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. According to one of the users, his iPhone 15 Pro gets so hot that it becomes difficult to hold.

"The natural titanium iPhone 15 Pro gets extremely hot, so much so that it becomes difficult to hold. Furthermore, it heats up after just a 2-minute FaceTime call or when scrolling through reels for 8-10 minutes. This is a new issue for me, as I've never encountered this with any previous phone," the user said while sharing a video wherein he can be seen measuring the temperature of his smartphone using a handheld thermometer gun.

While several people blamed the new A17 Pro SoC for the issues, noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities stated that the overheating issues could be because of some "compromises" in the design of the thermal system.
